Presentación del informe Doing Business 2015-África
Casa África organises the Doing Business 2015: beyond efficiency, a flagship publication of the World Bank group which for this presentation will specifically focus on highlighting the report's findings as regards to Africa.
This is the twelfth edition of a series of annual reports measuring the regulations that enhance business activity and those that constrain it.
Doing Business presents quantitative indicators on business regulations and the protection of property rights that can be compared across 189 economies - from Afghanistan to Zimbabwe - and over time.
This report also includes the - Ease of doing business index-which contains Mauritius as the African country with the best score in the ranking. This is why Casa África has invited the Minister of Economy and Finance from that country to explain the business opportunities that Mauritius offers.
Among the key findings of the report it should be mentioned:
- that the businessmen of 123 economies obtained improvements in their local regulatory framework last year, with the Sub-Saharan African region being the one which has the largest number of such reforms.
- that Tajikistan, Benin, Togo, Ivory Coast, Senegal, Trinidad and Tobago, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Azerbaijan, Ireland and the United Arab Emirates are among the economies that improved the most in the period 2013 /.
- that Sub Saharan Africa has 5 of the 10 economies that most progressed in 2013/14.
- This year for the first time, Doing Business collected data from 2 cities in 11 economies with over 100 million people, among which is Nigeria.
These and other findings of the report, focusing on Africa, will be presented by Augusto López-Claros, Director of Global Indicators and Analysis Department of the World Bank Group.
