Firma de las publicaciones de Casa África en la Feria del Libro de Madrid
The book signing is one of the traditional events that make up the Madrid Book Fair, which this year takes place from May 28 through June 13. Casa África has a close connection with this reality, and on June 4 and 12, it will hold book signings of its edited publications in collaboration with Los Libros de la Catarata.
On this occasion, the book signing is for two publications. First, on Friday, June 4, at 7:00 pm, in booth 273, there will be a book signing of El próspero negocio de la piratería en África (The Prosperous Business of Piracy in Africa). This work addresses a hot topic due to the recent attacks on Spanish ships. The book explains the great complexity of the causes of this phenomenon.
The other publication edited by Los Libros de la Catarata in collaboration with Casa África is Nigeria. Las brechas de un petroestado (Nigeria. The Gaps of a Petro-State), winner of the 2009 Casa África Essay Award. The author, Aloia Álvarez, will sign her work on Saturday, June 12, at 6:00 pm, also in booth 273. Álvarez reveals how Nigeria, a Western African economic giant and the top oil producer in the continent, is home to one of the most impoverished people on Earth.
