Exposición de artistas africanos de la colección del CAAM
Coinciding with the 3rd International Meeting of Universities with Africa, the Centro Atlántico de Arte Moderno (CAAM) will present in the Sala de Arte of the Universidad de Las Palmas de Gran Canaria a selection of its collection with works by contemporary African artists, which will be on display from the 10th of October through the 4th of November.
These artworks have been included in temporary exhibits with which the CAAM has wanted to reflect on the neighbouring continent´s artistic practices. On this occasion, and in collaboration with Casa África, this meeting will be the ideal setting to display this small exhibit that undoubtedly reflects the Canary Islands´ constant interest in Africa.
The exhibit is made up of pieces by the following artists:
- Willie Bester (Sudáfrica, 1956) & Théodore Dakpogan (Benin, 1956)
- Bili Bidjocka (Camerún, 1962)
- Sokari Douglas-Camp (Nigeria, 1958)
- Nal Vad (Francia-Gabón, 1954)
- Berry Bickle (Zimbawe, 1959)
- Con la obra Diana in Black Degradé, la artista Ghada Amer (Egipto, 1963)
