Cine africano en ANIMABASAURI 2012
Basauri once again holds its International Film Animation Festival, and this year it is its 8th edition. AnimaBasauri backs this cinema as a sector for the future and hopes that this competition will have a greater and greater projection so that it can act as a trampoline to a lot of new initiatives that have so much to offer, as well as to established companies that are struggling to continue innovating.
A type of cinema, that of animation, which continues to fill our lives with colour and enthusiasm, without losing sight of that critical part of reality. From creative entertainment for children, to animated films for adults, animation cinema envelops all of this as it does not care about age, sex, religion or political views, helping us to travel, understand, share. In short a place to meet up and for all lovers of animation to enjoy.
The cinematography invited to this edition will be Africa, with a wide range of works and guests from the continent amongst which we find those provided by Cinenómada. The films provided by Cinenómada, which can be seen from 28th to 31st May at 22:00h at Cines Golem Alhondiga of Bilbao, are the following:
Casa África sponsors Cinenómada because it has the same objective as Al-Tarab of making African cinema visible to as many Spanish audiences as possible and of brining Africa closer to Spain.
Cinenómada makes available to various entities a large selection of films from past editions of the FCAT, subtitled in Spanish, which is to date the only offering of this dimension and genre that exists in Spain and that guarantees African producers an income, which although modest, is often the only one they receive.
It targets associations, municipalities, regional governments, universities, cultural centres, film libraries, museums and any type of organisation or institution that is interested in promoting African cinema. Cinenómada distributes films throughout the year that would otherwise remain only in specialised festivals.
