Cine africano dentro de la edición 2011 de Pantalla del Món
The fourth edition of Pantalla del Món, the film cycle that is included within the Intercultural Autumn programme that is organised by the Youth Department at the Tarragona Town Council for these autumn months. Pantalla del Món is organised in collaboration with Casa África and the Cinenómada programme, so as to make known to the city of Tarragona and the greatest number of spectators, the film productions from Africa that are not found in our country's large commercial cinemas.
We hope to establish dialogue and communication with the public of Tarragona, who is more and more receptive, numerous and sensitive to the socio-cultural reality and politics of Africa, a continent that has as much wealth as it is unknown. Actions such as this cycle open doors to directors and producers of other countries to income, although modest, which is possibly the only they get.
This cycle, with free admission, will take place on 27th October; 10th and 24th November and 15th December at 20:00h in the Espai Jove Kesse (C/ Sant Antoni María Claret 12-14)
Casa África sponsors Cinenómada because it has the same objective as Al-Tarab of making African cinema visible to as many Spanish audiences as possible and of brining Africa closer to Spain.
Cinenómada makes available to various entities a large selection of films from past editions of the FCAT, subtitled in Spanish, which is to date the only offering of this dimension and genre that exists in Spain and that guarantees African producers an income, which although modest, is often the only one they receive.
It targets associations, municipalities, regional governments, universities, cultural centres, film libraries, museums and any type of organisation or institution that is interested in promoting African cinema. Cinenómada distributes films throughout the year that would otherwise remain only in specialised festivals.
