África en los fogones. Gastronomía africana en los cursos de 'La Caja cocina'
The Cookery Classroom from the Social Project Fund of La Caja de Canarias restarts a new edition of its cookery courses within its 'La Caja Cocina' programme that this season, which runs from September to December 2011, will have African tastes amongst its dishes
This event takes place thanks to the collaboration of the Education for Development campaign 'Africa in the kitchen' developed by Fundación Habitáfrica and supported by Casa África, who sowed the this project's first seed through its African Gastronomy Corner, an initiative that has taken African gastronomy to different points in the country as one more example of the great richness Africa has to offer.
On this occasion, the participants of these cookery courses will have the opportunity to learn first hand about what is most representative of Moroccan and Equatorial Guinean gastronomy , learning how to create evocative dishes such as cuscus with caramelised onion and raisins, meat with prunes and almonds, Moroccan style cheese custard or 'resi la bope va coco' (coconut water dessert).
People interested in taking part in these courses can enrol from 5th September 2011 onwards at the website.
