University of Pretoria

La Universidad de Pretoria es una institución pública sin ánimo de lucro que está situada en la ciudad de Pretoria, Gauteng. Reconocida por el Departamento de Educación Superior y Entrenamiento de Sudáfrica, la Universidad al tener nueve facultades, tiene la posibilidad de  ofrecer cursos y programas en distintas áreas de estudio, como la Facultad de Veterinaria, que es la única que existe en Sudáfrica, o la Facultad de Derecho y Empresariales, que es conocida por ser una de las mejores facultades de Sudáfrica.

La Universidad de Pretoria se ha convertido en una de las Universidades con más prestigio de todo el continente, por eso tiene una política de admisión muy selectiva que depende de las notas académicas de los estudiantes y de las notas de los exámenes que tienen que realizar para poder ser admitidos. 

Su objetivo es que sus graduados al finalizar sus estudios se conviertan en pensadores críticos y creativos que son capaces de trabajar sin ningún tipo de problema en cualquier ambiente de trabajo, a la vez que mantienen el compromiso de contribuir a Sudáfrica.

Africa Health Research Institute (AHRI)

La misión del Africa Health Research Institute es lograr la salud y el bienestar de la población con escasos recursos.

Se trata de un instituto de investigación científica independiente y transdisciplinar con sede en dos campus de la provincia de KwaZulu-Natal (KZN) en Sudáfrica.

La investigación del AHRI abarca las ciencias de la población, las ciencias básicas, las ciencias sociales y la medicina para comprender e intervenir en la salud y el bienestar de las comunidades sudafricanas.

El AHRI trabaja en colaboración con las comunidades locales y con las partes interesadas del mundo académico, gubernamental y político sudafricano. Hace hincapié en la formación de la próxima generación de científicos africanos. El AHRI colabora con más de 60 instituciones en todo el mundo.

La vida laboral de los aproximadamente 500 científicos, estudiantes y miembros del personal del AHRI se rige por los siguientes valores: ubuntu (lealtad), transformación, liderazgo, innovación, excelencia y colaboración.

Universidad de Ghana

La universidad de Ghana se fundó en 1948 y fue la primera y la más larga del país. Tenía el propósito de ofrecer y promover la educación universitaria, el aprendizaje y la investigación. En un principio estaba afiliada a la universidad de Londres, que supervisaba sus programas académicos y concedía los títulos, hasta que más tarde acabó por convertirse en una universidad que otorgaba los títulos con su propia acreditación.
