X Festival de Cine Africano de Córdoba
Casa África once again collaborates with the African Film Festival of Cordoba (FCAT), which returns from the 11th to 19th October to celebrate its tenth anniversary with a new selection of the best African and Arab cinemato continue overcoming stereotypes and help understand the reality of the neighbouring continent.
In this tenth edition, a must for lovers of African cinema, 66 films can be enjoyed from 24 different countries, distributed in eight sections, three of which are in a competition.
Among the parallel activities surrounding this festival during the days that Córdoba impregnates itself with films and Africa, the head of economics and business area of Casa Africa, Ico Sanchez-Pinto, will host a conference on 17th October, on the audiovisual sector in Africa.
Although the beginnings of this festival are anchored to the coastal town of Tarifa, the latest editions have been held in Cordoba, so once again, places like the Teatro Góngora, Sala Vimcorsa, Rey Heredia Veintidós or Casa Árabe will permeate with African films and culture, through films, exhibitions, activities for professionals and citizen participation activities designed for all ages.
FCAT Córdoba establishes itself as the annual venue of reference in Europe for African cinema, and is currently the only Spanish event dedicated to the productions of Africa and one of the largest in the world, maintaining among its objectives that of offering African films a platform to reach the halls, public and European film professionals.
