X Encuentro de Arquitecturas Colectivas. Habitar el territorio
The International Meetings of Collective Architecture take place annually and are never held in one same place. The aim of these meetings is to promote culture, participation and social cohesion, demonstrating that it is possible to work together for the common good and for city life. The emotional relationships and the moments shared are key to these processes.
Because we are all residents in one place or another, the International Network of Groups, in which 118 groups from Europe, South America and Central America are registered, as well as 15,000 citizens and 100,000 volunteers, is holding the Meeting of Collective Architecture in the Canaries for the first time since its creation in 2007.
This 10th Meeting has been planned in Gran Canaria and Tenerife on account of the need to create a network, —mainly between the diverse groups and residents of the Canaries, with whom the network of Collective Architecture (AACC) is integrated—, and furthermore, to open, for the first time, a link with African groups (so close and so far), thereby linking three continents.
Casa África is collaborating in this 10th Meeting in order to guarantee the presence and involvement of the Cape Verdean collective, comprising the photographer and film producer, César Schofield Cardoso and the architect and designer, Patti Anahory, who together created the project Storia Na Lugar.
For this Canaries edition, the activities will take place in different spaces in Gran Canaria from 13th to 19th July 2017 and in Tenerife from 20th to 23rd July 2017.
