Taller Municipia. Nuevos ámbitos de la cooperación en el fortalecimiento de las administraciones locales

The NGO for Development, Municipalistas por la Solidaridad y el Fortalecimiento Institucional (Municipalists for Solidarity and Institutional Strengthening) (MUSOL) has collaborated with the Programa MUNICIPIA (MUNICIPIA Program) in elaborating a Diagnosis of Spanish Cooperation for Local Institutional Strengthening at CAAEO, in order to offer a general picture of the help that has been carried out in this sector.
This and other points of Spanish cooperation in terms of municipal cooperation will be addressed at this workshop organized by MUSOL and Casa África, and which will be held at the latter’s seat on 25 and 26 of February.

Support for strengthening local democratic administrations, as well as support for processes geared towards consolidating policies and institutions for decentralized, territorial management is an essential reference of our cooperation.

The needs and challenges of some countries in terms of democratic governability, as well as the experience accumulated by Spanish Cooperation in Latin America are promoting the development of new initiatives within the scope of strengthening general and local administration in the social, political and institutional scenario typical of each region.

For that reason, Spanish Cooperation has started the Programa MUNICIPIA, geared towards constructing and consolidating a focus on quality and efficacy in terms of Municipalism in cooperation with development by promoting dialogue with general and local administration players of member countries and establishing coordination mechanisms with players of decentralized Spanish cooperation and international cooperation.
