Sociedades y Culturas Africanas Hoy
Casa Africa gives its support another year to the Complutense University of Madrid as part of its summer courses with an African theme. Under the direction of Isabela de Aranzadi, the coordination of Sofia Diéguez and Justo Bolekia as secretary, from 20th to 24th July 24 2015 the course "African Societies and Cultures Today"will be held which will be attended by the Casa África's director general at its opening and with African speakers provided by this institution.
This course also has the support of the Institut Catalunya Africa, Casa Árabe and the Embassy of Cameroon, all of them convinced that knowledge of the link between societies and cultures in Africa is an indispensable tool for reflection on the future of Africa.
This course will allow both the student and the scholar to find out about issues such as the concept of a person in Africa, the orality and the weight of the word as a support for memory and for social regulation, a reality in many cases modified in the colonial period, and to approach expressions called artistic and musical in the West.
In order to undertake this course can apply for a scholarship entitling you to accommodation on a full board basis in a shared double room and to the course material. The deadline for the application is 29th May. In any case, the price of the enrolment must always be paid. See details and rates.
