Presentación del proyecto CONFIÁFRICA
The presentation of the CONFIÁFRICA project will take place on Tuesday 28 March 2017 at 10:30am. Casa África belongs to this project together with the Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Services and Navigation of Gran Canaria, Santa Cruz de Tenerife, Mauritania, Dakar (Senegal) and Barlovento (Cape Verde) and the Tenerife and Las Palmas Federations of Metal (Femete and Femepa).
Confiáfrica is an international cooperation project targeted at SMEs which aims to strengthen the relationship of the Canary Islands with African institutions, enhancing business opportunities in exports, investments and bidding through consortia.
The project is 85% co-financed by FEDER within the framework of Territorial Cooperation MAC 2014-2020 of the European Regional Development Fund, Interreg, and its main added value is to foster cooperation and collaboration between companies from the Canary Islands and companies from Africa so that they can do business together, accessing new markets through strategic alliances. At the same time, it emphasises the transfer of experience and good practices between SMEs in more-developed and less-developed regions, which will reduce the levels of imbalance and increase knowledge of both markets, identifying opportunities and making contact with experienced partners to form consortia.
Confiáfrica is the continuation of the work done in 2002 by the Canary Islands Government through the Directorate General for Relations with Africa, the Canary Islands Society for Economic Development (Proexca) and the Chambers of Commerce of Santa Cruz de Tenerife and Gran Canaria, when the web AFRICAinfomarket was created, providing market information, studies, news, etc., and then later when the LICIRED portal was developed to support businesses by giving access to international tenders. Based on this work, Confiáfrica wants to expand and strengthen trade links between the Canary Islands and Africa with updated information, forming joint ventures with businesses from the Islands and entering new markets.
This presentation aims to bring this project (which will last three years) to the attention of the people of the Canary Islands. The presentation will take place at the headquarters of Femete (calle Mazo, 7, P.I. Los Majuelos, Tenerife) in the presence of all the members of the partnership [See the programme]
