Presentación del informe 'Perspectivas Económicas de África 2014'

Africa could transform its economy and witness a huge growth in development by improving their integration into the global production of goods and services, according to the African Economic Outlook 2014 report. Published each year by the African Development Bank (AfDB), the Development Centre of the OECD and the United Nations Program for Development (UNDP), the 2014 report highlights the economic situation of an Africa that is resistant to both interior and external shocks and about to know strong economic growth.

It is estimated that the growth of the continent will reach 4.8% in 2014 and between 5 and 6% in 2015, levels that it has not obtained since the economic crisis of 2009. The report praises a more diversified economic growth, driven by domestic demand, infrastructure and the increasingly consolidated trade in manufactured goods across the continent.

To discuss these and many other conclusions reached in this report on  the African Economic Outlook there is a presentation of it held annually and in 2014 this will take place on 9th, 10th and 11th July, first at the headquarters of the CEOE in Madrid, then at Casa Africa and finally in the Cabildo of Tenerife.African Economic Outlook, AEO in its acronym in English, is an essential tool for continuing economic, political and social developments of the continent. Just as every year Casa África collaborates in the presentation of this report to make known the economic reality in Sub-Saharan Africa and disseminate international publications which deal with African economies and markets throughout Spain.

This type of activity also involves closer collaboration with major institutions  for the analysis and economic projection for Africa such as the African Development Bank (AfDB), or OECD, among others.

The report will be presented to the public who are interested:

  • on 9th July at 12:00 am at the CEOE's headquarters in Madrid (C /. Diego de León n º 50). See programme
  • on 10th July at 9:30 am at Casa África's headquarters in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria (C /. Alfonso XIII nº 5). See programme
  • on 11th July at 11:00 a.m.  in the Cabildo de Tenerife (Plaza de España, 1). See programme

Attendance is free but pre-registration is required for reasons of capacity.
