Mesa Redonda: Tribunal africano de los DDHH de los Pueblos. Hacia una declaración conjunta

This round table, titled 'African Court on the Human Rights of People: Towards a Joint Declaration of Global Advocacy,' is a project of the Colegio de Abogados de Madrid (Madrid Lawyers´ Association) that has been worked on since 2008.

The fundamental objective of these meetings is to delve deeper into the collaboration that the Colegio de Abogados de Madrid has maintained with a number of African lawyers´ associations and to act as a speaker between the later and the main lawyers´ associations throughout the world. The aim is to analyse the status of Human Rights in the African continent, with special attention on the African Court for Human Rights and of People, and the role of African advocacy in promoting the full effectiveness of this court, with the solidarity and support of global advocacy.

This year, the project aims to make significant progress by adopting a joint worldwide advocacy declaration that states the support and solidarity towards African advocacy and its full and decided cooperation in the future. It consists of an action that must be carried out in the mid to long term in order to guarantee a certain level of sustainability.
