Lectura de tesis: Factores asociados a desnutrición crónica infantil en Mozambique, por Loida María García Cruz
Casa África is hosting the reading and defence of the Doctoral Dissertation entitled: “Factors associated with chronic child malnutrition in Mozambique”, by Loida María García Cruz from the Department of Clinical Sciences of the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria (ULPGC) and the University Institute of Biomedical and Health Research (IUBIS). The thesis has been supervised by Dr Lluis Serra Majem (Professor of Preventive Medicine and Public Health at the ULPGC where he also holds the UNESCO Chair of Research, Planning and Development of Local Health Systems, director of the Nutrition Research Group and Director of the IUIBS of Las Palmas) and Dr Gloria González Azpeitia (Professor of Paediatrics of the ULPGC and member of the Nutrition Research Group).
The research work has been carried out within the framework of a collaboration agreement between the ULPGC and Zambezi University in Mozambique. It was subsidised by the AECID (Spanish Agency for International Development Cooperation).
The Tribunal will be chaired by Benjamin Caballero MD PhD MSc, Professor at the International Department of Health and Paediatrics and director of the Centre for Human Nutrition at the Bloomberg School of Public Health and Medicine at Johns Hopkins University. Luis Peña Quintana, Professor of Paediatrics at the ULPGC, will act as secretary and the chairman will be Eduardo Domenech Martínez, Professor of Paediatrics at the University of La Laguna.
The thesis will be presented in Casa África’s Nelson Mandela Auditorium on 27 March 2018 at 12 mid-day.
