Jornada de emprendimiento e innovación para el desarrollo

Ana Cárdenes, head of the area of Economy and Business in Casa África, participates in this workshop aimed at analysing the ever-changing and competitive global scenario.

Organised by Palet Express Cajasiete, this workshop on enterprise and innovation for development will receive input from entrepreneurs from different parts of the world with profoundly different political, economic and cultural circumstances but with identical and legitimate aspirations to improve the economic and social development of their communities and make them more resilient to adverse situations.

Different experts will also provide an overview of where, how and why digital enterprise and networks of entrepreneurs, alongside technology and innovation, are creating an opportunity for society as a whole to build a fairer, more sustainable and more inclusive global development.

Palet Express Cajasiete proposes reflecting during this workshop on the contribution the Canaries could make towards fostering enterprise in developing countries; on the impact this could have on our entrepreneurs, universities, and centres of scientific and technological research on the islands; and on the role political, economic and social institutions should play to turn the support of enterprise and innovation into a new and modern instrument of external action in line with the current era.

The day will be divided into four blocks:

Block 1: Eco-system of enterprise in the Canaries. Now what?
Block 2: Enterprise, technology and innovation in the Mediterranean. The case of Mauritania.
Block 3: Entrepreneurs and the digital economy beyond Silicon Valley.
Block 4: Networks, institutions and politics. Why and how to foster enterprise in growing economies.
