Inversión Exterior Responsable y Desarrollo Local

Humana Fundación Pueblo para Pueblo organises this meeting to analyse the combination of  business opportunities in Sub-Saharan Africa, specifically in Angola, and the benefits that the investments can have for a company and for local communities.

The objective is to demonstrate how foreign investment, profitability, corporate social responsibility (CSR) and the progress of communities make up a possible and necessary equation. The event will explore business opportunities in Sub-Saharan Africa, with special emphasis on Angola, a country that finds itself in a decisive moment regarding its future in the short to medium term, as it is working on the diversification of its economy to respond to the fall in the price of oil, which has been the driving force of the intense economic growth that the country had undergone during the last decade.

Casa África's director general, Luis Padrón, has been invited to participate in this meeting, which will offer a lecture on "Africa and its geostrategic importance: special reference to Angola". This discussion on the balance between foreign investment and local development, will also feature speakers from the Codespa Foundation and the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona.

This conference is part of the project for the "Increase in food security and production activities of 1,000 rural families in Cabinda, Angola", which the Foundation currently implements with the ADPP-Angola and co-financing from the EU..

The meeting is aimed at companies with interests in Angola and NGOS focused on development cooperation.

The event, which will show success stories and examples of good practices, will have the following presentations:

  • "Africa and its geostrategic importance: special reference to Angola.
  • "Development of rural markets in Sub-Saharan Africa; the experience of Codespa in Angola.
