III Seminario Parlamento y Estado de Derecho
Casa África and the Congreso de los Diputados have collaborated to organise the 3rd Parliament and State of Law Seminar, which will be held June 21-25, 2010. The first part of the seminar is scheduled to take place in Madrid at the headquarters of the Congreso de los Diputados (June 21-23) and the second part will be held in Brussels (June 24-25).
The first seminar of this type took place in the headquarters of the Congreso de los Diputados in September of 2007, in collaboration with the Agencia Española de Cooperación Internacional para el Desarrollo (AECI, Spanish Agency for International Cooperation) that existed, with a focus on technical cooperation.
The second edition, held in June 2009, was centred on the Autonomous State and its parliamentary structure (Congress, Senate and Parliament of the Canary Islands). At each of the two editions, up to three parliamentarians for each of the 14 states that make up ECOWAS (Economic Community of West African States) participated.
This third edition is scheduled to be focused on the bond between the National Parliaments and the European Parliament. In fact, ECOWAS, as a supranational organisation, is interested in understanding more in depth how the connection between national and supranational parliaments can be made in a more practical manner.
