III Muestra de cine y derechos humanos

This 3rd Human Rights and Film Season that is organised by the San Sebastián de Los Reyes City Government is consolidated with an attractive offering that includes films that will be seen for the first time in the Community of Madrid. All of this thanks to the participation and collaboration of local NGOs and neighbours from the municipality, and the collaboration of Casa África through the Cinenómada film collection.

Casa África sponsors Cinenómada because it has the same objective as Al-Tarab of making African cinema visible to as many Spanish audiences as possible and of brining Africa closer to Spain.

Cinenómada makes available to various entities a large selection of films from past editions of the FCAT, subtitled in Spanish, which is to date the only offering of this dimension and genre that exists in Spain and that guarantees African producers an income, which although modest, is often the only one they receive.

It targets associations, municipalities, regional governments, universities, cultural centres, film libraries, museums and any type of organisation or institution that is interested in promoting African cinema. Cinenómada distributes films throughout the year that would otherwise remain only in specialised festivals.

This film season, organised to commemorate the signing of the Human Right Declaration (December 10th, 1948) and to remind people that last year marked 20 years of the Convention on the Rights of the Child, will include the Ethiopian short film titled Lezare and the South African fictional feature film Izulu Lami, both which will provide another perspective of the situation of children and their rights throughout the world.

Saturday, December 11th, starting at 11:00 am Documentary section at the Forum Fnac

ADMISSION IS FREE FOR ALL THE SHOWINGS. All at the Ábaco Cinebox Plaza Norte 2 cinema, except for the documentary section
