II Curso de formación en animación socio-cultural
This course is the second stage of that undertaken in 2011 and its aim is to continue providing methodological tools to African residents in our country so that they can be used in intercultural conferences or shows, such as the África Vive fiesta that Casa África holds each year as part of its initiative with the same name revolving around Africa Day (25th May).
The duration of the training will be 20 hours spread over 7 sessions. Once the theoretic part has been completed, each student will also undertake a practical workshop at an educational centre.
This training course on methodological techniques for socio-cultural entertainment is part of the intercultural awareness programme that has been carried out in schools on the island of Gran Canaria as part of África Vive since 2010.
The main idea is to train a group of Africans in sociocultural entertainment techniques so that they can then be in charge of working directly with schools and secondary schools in an effort to raise awareness. This way, students will become aware of the African reality directly from its protagonists through activities and workshops.
The main objective of the project is to raise awareness in the educational community about the interest and knowledge of Africa, involving them with the África Vive initiative set up three years ago by Casa África and mainly in the África Vive fiesta, which will take place on the 19th May 2012 in the capital of Gran Canaria. The Africans who are accredited after course will be the monitors of some of the workshops on the day of the fiesta.
Training is free and one of the project's aims is to give Africans who live on the island and take part, some tools to undertake a professional activity in the entertainment field, so that they also learn how to transmit to the Canary islands community about the knowledge of their countries and life on the neighbouring continent.
