II Certamen Literario en Español

The Cultural Section of the Spanish Embassy in Senegal, in collaboration with the Instituto Cervantes, the Cuban Embassy, the Venezuelan Embassy and the Honorary Consulate of Equatorial Guinea, has organised the 2nd Spanish Literary Event with the aim of stimulating literary creativity and fostering interest in this language.

Participation is open to any resident of Senegal with the nationality of an African nation, except those from Spanish-speaking countries.

The projects can be submitted in two ways--post mail or e-mail--and the submission deadline is March 20th.

The batch of books and the educational materials of the prizes will be adapted to each category by age and will include several works that belong to the Casa África collections which have been donated by the institution to the Spanish Embassy in order to support its efforts of disseminating the Spanish language´s image of universality throughout the world.

One project can be submitted for each category, and winners can receive only one prize. The awards ceremony will take place on May 7th at 17:00 at the Aula Cervantes in Dakar as part of an event that aside from announcing the names of the finalists and the winning texts for each category, the winning poems and stories will also be read.
