Festival MiradasDoc 2011
MiradasDoc is an International Documentary Film Festival that preferentially shows films that are produced and filmed in the Third World and developing countries, as well as those films that delve into issues such as North-South relations or emergent social processes in the first world. Casa África this year once again supports this important cinematographic festival, which will take place in Guía de Isora (Tenerife) from the 28th October to 5th November 2011.
The International Documentary Film Festival of Guía de Isora is divided into an official section and a series of informative sections. The official section, where films take part in a competition, is divided into three main prizes: International (divided into feature films, short films and début films); National and from the Canaries.
Once again this year, the African part will be very present in the festival with the showing of films that are listed later on, some which are of strictly African production and others with an African theme but with European production or are co-produced wih Africa.
Casa África's General Director, Ricardo Martínez, will be present at the press conference to be held on 26th October together with the mayor of Guía de Isora's Town Council, to kick off the festival.
