Femi Kuti en el Festival Territorios Sevilla de la mano de África Vive
Through its África Vive initiative, Casa África will once again bring to Seville the African portion of its 2011 Seville Territorios Festival. The event will take place on the 20th and 21st of May at the Centro Andaluz de Arte Contemporáneo, Monasterio de la Cartuja, Avda. Américo Vespucio, 2, Isla de la Cartuja. The concerts will begin at approximately 21:15.
For several years, the collaboration between Seville Territorios and Casa África has made possible performances in the festival of many interesting proposals from the neighbouring continent, both musical as well as of other artistic fields (photography, film, etc.), with an entire section being focused on Africa in the 2010 edition.
Casa África´s contribution makes the very complete line-up of this festival to centre on performances by:
Femi Kuti, the heir of Fela Kuti´s legend, the father of the afrobeat rhythm, who transforms everything he touches into unbridled whirlwind and dance, and who is an essential part of music in the neighbouring continent.
From Cape Verde, this year´s África Vive will make it possible to introduce the two most popular groups from the recently held Cape Verde Vis a Vis. From Mindelo, Cape Verde´s cultural capital, Expavi, a hip-hop group made up of three boys, and Domu Afrika Dub Squad, a reggae group that impressed Spanish promoters with their brilliant sound, will participate in the event.
