Encuentro triangular España-Marruecos-Senegal

This three-way meeting is being organised in Casa África in order to take advantage of Spanish companies’ growing interest in Senegal, the massive presence of Spanish companies in Morocco and the priority in economic and commercial terms that this country grants Senegal.

Spanish companies are increasingly interested in investing in various economic sectors of Senegal which require assets and offer great market potential as a gateway to West Africa.

The development strategy implemented by Senegal, and the country’s current process of economic growth, focus attention on the opportunities. This was highlighted by the Spanish ambassador to Senegal, Alberto Virella, in his article about the stability of investments in the country, written for our blog África Vive.

The growing economic interest in Senegal is also reflected in the different business meetings that are being organised to consider its investment possibilities, like the meeting held last March in Dakar by the ICEX, which was attended by 36 Spanish companies. The complementary step is to facilitate synergy with Spanish companies in Morocco, as well as Moroccan companies, in order to better compete for access to finance and public contests.

This meeting in Casa África will be divided into a plenary session and four round tables which will focus on four priority sectors of business opportunity:

  • Logistics and industrial areas
  • Food and drink industry
  • Energy

The meeting has the support and collaboration of the Spanish Embassies in Senegal and Morocco and will be attended by government representatives from the three countries and from the Canary Islands Government for the sectors mentioned above. Investment agencies will also be involved such as Agence de Promotion des Investissements et Grands Travaux (APIX) from Senegal, support for investments (COFIDES), public bodies (ICEX, ITC), credit organisations, banking and corporate employers (GFCM in Morocco, CNP in Senegal, the CEOE in Spain and the Chamber of Commerce of Spain).

Attendance at the event is free but advance registration is required before 27 May via the email economia@casafrica.es
