Encuentro Inside Africa 2017
On 22 February 2017, Pontificia Comillas University is hosting a new Inside Africa meeting, to be held in the conference room in its headquarters at Alberto Aguilera 23, Madrid.
The meeting will focus on the great opportunities for Africa in the twenty-first century, government and civil society, courses, internships, volunteering and development projects in Africa. Various entities will participate, and Casa África will be represented by its head of culture and education, Juan Jaime Martínez.
Through an annual forum and other specific meetings, the Inside Africa meetings seek to openly share information, experiences, ideas and initiatives to find common solutions to the challenges faced by organisations and programmes of study in Africa.
The objectives of the meeting can be summarised as:
- To create an annual forum/meeting for discussion and exchange of information on the African operations and programmes of NGOs based in Europe.
- To organise education and training courses which are of common interest to all attendees.
- To learn what other members do to overcome or solve common problems: budgets, volunteering, cooperation with local authorities, benefits, successes, failures.
- To create a common platform or join those already created to strengthen humanitarian aid and cooperation with Africa in various fields.
- To share successful programmes or projects and which can be applied to other locations or communities in the countries where NGOs are present in different areas: entrepreneurship, microcredit, training, health care, renewable energy, sustainability etc.
- To share contacts and resources for the security and better integration of volunteers and professionals involved in humanitarian, educational and commercial activities in the various African countries.
- To bring together initiatives and ideas to make the meeting a day of fruitful work where contacts are facilitated and promoted and common ideals and goals are shared.
- To publicise and promote conferences, cultural education and development cooperation programmes for a better understanding of the African continent.
