Diálogo e Identidades a través del Cine
Casa Africa gives its support another year to the Complutense University of Madrid as part of its summer courses with an African theme. Under the leadership of Sonia Sanchez Diaz, the secretary of Maria de Miguel (both of the Sefard-Israel Centre) and with the collaboration of Casa Árabe and Casa América as part of the joint actions of the Casas Network, from 6th to 10th July 2015 the course"Dialogue and Identities through Cinema" will be held and organised around lectures in the morning and a cinema forum in the afternoon.
Each day of the course will be devoted to a Casa and during the day the main challenges and debates regarding identity in the region of the world where the Casa operates will be discussed. In the case of Casa África, it will be the head of the cultural area, Juan Jaime Martínez, who will speak at the round table on 8th July.
The aim of the course is to provide a sample of the work of the Casas Network as instruments of public diplomacy and analyse how the dissemination of the artistic production of other cultures can help to bring societies closer together, particularly through the vision that cinema offers as an important pedagogical tool of today.
In order to undertake this course you can apply for a scholarship entitling you to accommodation on a full board basis in a shared double room and to the course material. The deadline for the application is 29th May. In any case, the price of the enrolment must always be paid. See information and rates.
