Curso de verano: Diplomacia de las ciudades
As an urban space for coexistence in which more than 70% of the world’s population lives, of course the city already has great importance for its citizens. However, of increasing importance is a city’s international presence and its connection to other cities with similar outlooks through transnational meetings and networks. Examples include Smart cities and the Greencities network which aim to promote best practices on issues of environmental sustainability or the use of technology.
The City also plays an important role in public diplomacy, as an international showcase for the degree of development and cultural richness of the country as a whole. In this regard, the Network of Casas is an ideal instrument to carry out an analysis of the various facets of the phenomenon of “urban diplomacy” from all geographical perspectives, offering us the opportunity to study the activity and international influence of the city and its impact on the citizen’s way of life and quality of life.
Therefore, the Network of Casas is launching this free course which is open to the general public. University-level academic education is required, as well as knowledge of English, as some of the presenters will not speak Spanish.
To register, send an email to escuela.cursos@maec.es Registration is open until Friday 30 June at 9 am and admission to the course will be strictly in order of registration.
