Curso: Conocimiento tradicional, poder local y desarrollo: pistas africanas
Casa África collaborates one more year with Centre Ernest Lluch of Consorci Universitat Internacional Menéndez Pelayo de Barcelona (CUIMPB) to set up autumn courses with African themes, which have been held since 2006. Casa África's General Director, Ricardo Martínez will be present at the course's inauguration.
During the 90s, a series of new driving forces for development were proposed that seemed to give a thorough review of the same concept. Nearly 20 years later, the "new developments" and the local knowledge seem to have lost their drive. However the reasons for the expectations that they had generated still remain there. What is happening? Perhaps, have we forgotten that African knowledge is and should always be an embodied knowledge, that is, political? This is the path that the course wants to explore"Tradicional knowledge, local power and development: African paths", which will take place in Barcelona on the 27th and 28th October 2011.
