Congreso Internacional de Telecentros - Sparklab Fuerteventura

Under the motto Canary Islands the three continents link in the development of New Technologies, those responsible for technology for the development and administrators of the Telecentre networks of different countries will gather for three days to discuss the possibilities of opening new lines of collaboration between the Spanish telecentres community and the African and Latin American continents.

Casa África's general secretary, Arianne Hernández, participate in this meeting with which this institution also facilitates the participation of Mr. Seth Sall, Engineer and Technical Advisor on ICT for the Ministry of Communication and Telecommunications of the Government of the Republic of Senegal.

This International Meeting of Telecentres, held within the "Fuerteventura Meeting Point" will be carried out as part of the Get Online Week and eSkillsforJobs, which makes room for the development of agreements and parallel programmes such as Sparklab Fuerteventura and Workshop Fuerteventura .

The congress aims to become a meeting point for the global social innovation, as its main objective. Throughout these conferences, there will  be a special focus on the role of Telecentres for the development of rural areas and isolated environments.

Telecentres are public spaces with open access devoted to generating projects and initiatives between people, connecting them and stimulating their ability to transform and improve where they live through the ICTs.

The Technology Park of Fuerteventura is offered as a magnet for entrepreneurs and companies with a technological base and initiative in I + D + I to develop anywhere on the island geography, allowing economic activity to be diversified, and change the initial structure of the Fuerteventura economy with a complementary sector to tourism.

The Technology Park of Fuenteventura and the Fuerteventura Seed Network will have the honour of hosting more than 200 participants related to the development of information technology, industries of the sector and public and private organisations in Europe, America and Africa. Through its broadcast by streaming it will also be a meeting point for thousands of people around the world related to global network of telecentres.

The main objective of the conference is for it to become a meeting point for the analysis and evolution of concepts related to global social innovation relating and involving companies, operators, promoters and users of the Telecentres sector.
