Within the framework of the Fifth International Colloquium on the Governance of the Atlantic Ports (14th - 21st centuries), which will take place at the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria (ULPGC) from 30 November to 2 December 2017, Casa África is hosting a presentation by Professor Ayodeji Olukoju, the most renowned African academic on African Economic History, and a specialist in the History of the Gulf of Guinea.
The International Research Group “The Governance of the Atlantic Ports. 14th - 21st centuries” aims to develop a comparative analysis of the historical dynamics of the Atlantic ports over time, investigating phenomena such as linkages, transfers and consolidations of port models on both sides of the Atlantic.
In order to share this research and gain new perspectives and data, this group is running several meetings during the year, including this event being held by the ULPGC.
