Concurso África Vive para bandas de música africana
Have you an African music band? Do you want to play at the next África Vive concert in Madrid? This may be your chance.
África Vive is a Casa África initiative which was created with the idea of celebrating Africa Day (25th May) and using the celebration to get to know each other better and to bring African and Spanish people nearer in a leisure and participating context.
With África Vive, Casa África aims to improve knowledge of the neighbouring continent in our country with a full programme of activities including cultural, political, economic, social and sports activities that are in line with this institution's motto: Africa and Spain, each time nearer
Within this programme of activities, one of the highlights is the África Vive concert, which is held in Madrid and this 2015 will take place on 17th July as part of the Cultura Inquieta Festival.
An opportunity is provided through this competition for two African music groups, who are resident in Spain, to be able to act together with African groups invited by Casa África to play that night in Madrid.
All groups and soloists residents in Spain can take part in this competition if they have at least one year of professional experience and their members are of legal age.
All styles have a place in África Vive, provided it is African music made in Spain that covers the cultural wealth of the neighbouring continent: music with roots, pop, Mandingo, Afrofunk, Kuduro, Mbalax, Afrobeat, Hip Hop, etc.
The two groups that are chosen will be paid 2,000 euros to help them participate in the África Vive Festival; the organisation covers the cost of accommodation plus a travel bag for the 17th July if they live outside Madrid.
Groups wishing to participate in the competition have to register before the 15th May 2015. The result of the groups that are chosen will be published on the Cultura Inquieta website on the 30th of the same month.
Registration is free and sending the registration form means the acceptance of the competition rules.
