Cinenómada en la Semana de la Francofonía
The Francophony Week in Seville, "Stories of Journeys and Travellers", is a multidisciplinary event (music, films, workshops, conferences, exhibits) organised by the Institut Français in collaboration with the consulates of France, Morocco, Luxembourg, Belgium and Romania, as well as with the Universidad de Sevilla, the Centro de Iniciativas Culturales de la US (CICUS), the Real Academia Sevillana de Buenas Letras, the Biblioteca Pública Provincial, FNAC and other public and private cultural institutions of Seville.
Through screenings of current French-speaking films (subtitled), meetings with writers, stories from travellers, the concert of two contemporary poets, the Francophony Week will lead us through lands that share the French language.
As part of this event, on March 16th at 19:45, Un Transport en commun by the film maker Dyana Gaye will be shown It will take place at the Uruguay Pavilion (C/. Chile s/n).
Casa África sponsors Cinenómada because it has the same objective as Al-Tarab of making African cinema visible to as many Spanish audiences as possible and of brining Africa closer to Spain.
Cinenómada makes available to various entities a large selection of films from past editions of the FCAT, subtitled in Spanish, which is to date the only offering of this dimension and genre that exists in Spain and that guarantees African producers an income, which although modest, is often the only one they receive.
It targets associations, municipalities, regional governments, universities, cultural centres, film libraries, museums and any type of organisation or institution that is interested in promoting African cinema. Cinenómada distributes films throughout the year that would otherwise remain only in specialised festivals.
