Cinenómada en el III Foro europeo de desarrollo rural
The European Commission, the Government of Spain, and the Global Donor Platform for Rural Development have organised the 3rd European Forum on Rural Development, which will be held in the city of Palencia from March 29th to April 1st of 2011. This event provides continuity to the process that began during the 1st Forum (Montpelier, 2002) and the 2nd Forum (Berlin, 2007).
The 3rd European Forum on Rural Development, with the motto of 'Agriculture of the future and rural development in the fight against hunger,' aims to discuss recent experiences in the field of Rural Development and share the lessons learned by the various actors, with a special emphasis on promoting those practices that allow to reduce agricultural and food safety.
As part of this forum, Casa África will provide a film screening within the parallel activities. The film in question is titled Faro, la reine des eaux
The showing will take place on Monday, March 28th, in the Ortega Theatre (C/ Colón 2, Palencia) at 20:15, and admission is reserved to the Forum attendees.
This feature film is made possible for the Forum thanks to Cinenómada, sponsored by Casa África because it has the same objective as Al-Tarab of making African cinema visible to as many Spanish audiences as possible and of brining Africa closer to Spain.
Cinenómada makes available to various entities a large selection of films from past editions of the FCAT, subtitled in Spanish, which is to date the only offering of this dimension and genre that exists in Spain and that guarantees African producers an income, which although modest, is often the only one they receive.
It targets associations, municipalities, regional governments, universities, cultural centres, film libraries, museums and any type of organisation or institution that is interested in promoting African cinema. Cinenómada distributes films throughout the year that would otherwise remain only in specialised festivals.
