Celebración del 59º Aniversario de la Independencia de Senegal
On the 59th anniversary of Senegal’s independence, the Association of Senegalese Youth and the Serer Association, both part of the Federation of African Associations in the Canary Islands (FAAC) are organising, in collaboration with Casa África, a conference and a recreational event that includes Senegalese food tastings, music and dances.
Senegal has been a fully independent country since 20 June 1960, as a result of the power transfer agreement signed with France on 4 April 1960. Since then, it has been a key country in the West African region and is involved in all peace and economic advancement processes.
The Senegalese population living in the Canary Islands does not want to let the remoteness of their homeland prevent them from celebrating the important event of their independence, so they encourage the entire population of the Canary Islands to share with them, on Saturday 6 April in the courtyard of Casa África, a full programme of activities as detailed below:
