Casa África apoya la presencia africana en ARCOmadrid 2012
Galleries, artists, collectors and art professionals from all over the world take part in the International Contemporary Art Fair, ARCOmadrid, a date that is among the first art market platforms in the world.
Casa África contributes and promotes African participation in Spanish reference forums. In 2010 Casa África's contribution to ARCOmadrid allowed the proposal of two South African galleries to be exhibited: Michael Stevenson and Afronova, both chosen by André Magnin as part of the Solo Projects initiative. In this way, African presence gained space in one of the most important dates of contemporary art at an international level.
In 2012 Casa África has once again wanted to support an African initiative enabling its presence at ARCOMadrid. Nirox Foundation is a private South African foundation committed to excellence and contemporary art. It offers a residence programme for international artists of all disciplines and an accommodation programme for local artists, as well as having a large collection of contemporary African work.
With Casa África's support, Nirox will have a stand at ArcoMadrid from which it will provide information about itself and at the same time screen videos relating to projects undertaken for everybody that visits its stand at IFEMA-Feria de Madrid between 15th and 19th February 2012 during 10:00h to 22:00h.
