#ÁfricaEsNoticia: Construyendo una nueva mirada fotográfica africana
The Island Council of Tenerife is organising this meeting which Casa África is joining in the framework of its #ÁfricaEsNoticia programme. It will be a talk between the Senegalese photojournalist Mamadou Gomis and the Catalan journalist Pere Ortín, director of Altair magazine, which published a special about the Senegalese capital. The two guests will hold a dialogue about the city of Dakar and the situation in this country which is always in a state of creative excitement.
The event is on Thursday 26 October from 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. in the TEA (Tenerife Space for the Arts).
Mamadou Gomis and Pere Ortín created the exhibition which is currently being hosted by Casa África. This is the exhibition Dakar, a look, the result of a decade of joint work whose richness arises from the combination of two points of view: that of the local citizen-narrator (Gomis) and that of the foreigner (Ortín) fascinated by the life flowing through urban Africa with the idea of asking questions, learning, trying to understand (or not) the attractive complexity of a mega city.
This dialogue has been established following the same concept. It will undoubtedly bring forth infinite nuances, mixing points of view which are artistic and journalistic, but above all human, inviting us to observe attentively, to look carefully and to recognize that beauty is always in the eye of the beholder, and also in the eye of the storyteller.
