África Vive con el Festival de Cine Africano de Tarifa
Once again, Casa África is collaborating with the Tarifa African Film Festival (FCAT), which will celebrate its seventh edition this year and show more than 100 African films or ones about the African continent.
At the Festival, Casa África (the reference in Spain about African films) will collaborate by contributing the Griot de Ébano, one of the awards for the list of winners, which will be given to the best documentary.
Within the framework of the Cinenómada programme, in which Casa África collaborates along with the FCAT, nearly twenty cities have prepared African film seasons so far this year.
As a parallel activity to this festival, the conference titled 'Utopía y realidad. 50 años de ¿Independencias Africanas?' (Utopia and Reality. 50 years of African independences?) will take place, coinciding with the fact that 2010 is the 50th anniversary of the independences of the first 17 African states that took the first steps towards Africa´s decolonisation.
The Galería Silos will host these events, which will be structured around three sessions distributed throughout three days. There will be a series of conferences in the morning, and film showings in the afternoon.
