África en los fogones. Gastronomía marroquí en el Mezze Mediterráneo
The restaurant "Mezze Mediterráneo" and Habitáfrica Foundation with its "Africa in the kitchen" campaign, which is supported by Casa África, organises gastronomic seminars that will be held on the 14th and 15th October 2011 at the aforementioned restaurant, situated in C/. Pintor Pepe Dámaso nº 20 in the Gran Canaria municipality of Telde. This time the protagonist country will be Morocco, and will be led by the Moroccan chef Saida Elkinani and the Syrian chef Imad Atli who is the owner of the restaurant.
There will be a tasting menu of the country's most representative dishes, original desserts, traditional music, audiovisual surroundings and a lot more, all to captivate those attending with our neighbouring country's magic.
The Habitáfrica Foundation in Canarias develops the "Africa in the kitchen " campaign, which is directed at bringing society in general closer to the socio-cultural reality and development of some African countries, through different gastronomic activities given by African women. The intention is to raise Canary society’s awareness regarding Africa's values and skills, in this case in the culinary environment, placing a special emphasis on the value women have in this continent as a development motor and essential figure for the family.
