The ACSD focus is on facilitating exchange of information on interventions, initiatives and best practices on

• Climate change
• Food security
• Access to water
• Clean energy generation
• The achievement of SDGs in African Countries

The objective is to increase synergies and complementarities between activities, learn from earlier activities and to increase the effectiveness and efficiency of donor resources. The goal is to contribute and accelerate Sustainable Development on the African Continent.

Through the Centre the partners want to encourage the increase of effectiveness, of the synergies and complementarity of the initiatives in progress in support of Africa, and at the same time have the opportunity to better listen to the needs and priorities of our African partners.

ECREEE’s mandate is also perfectly aligned with the broader strategic goals of ECOWAS Vision 2020. It seeks to realize directly two of the components of this vision, namely: (1) ‘A region that anchors its development on sustainable development, including agricultural and mineral resource development strategy, and on planned agricultural and industrial strategies; a region that develops its infrastructure and makes services accessible to its citizens and enterprises.’ (2) ‘A region that conserves its environment and resources, promotes modes of equitable and sustainable development in economic, social and environmental fields; a region which brings its contribution to bear on resolution of the common problems and challenges confronting the planet.’

El Instituto de Estudios sobre Conflictos y Acción Humanitaria (IECAH), creado en el año 2000, tiene su sede en Madrid. Se constituye como una iniciativa privada que agrupa a un conjunto de especialistas en los ámbitos del estudio de los conflictos, y la cooperación con especial énfasis en la ayuda humanitaria, con una amplia experiencia acumulada en diversas áreas temáticas y geográficas, tanto desde una perspectiva docente como investigadora, desarrollada en centro académicos y de análisis nacionales y extranjeros. Unen a ello una experiencia y enfoque práctico con mucha experiencia en ONG y otros organismos de cooperación.
