SafarKhan tiene la doble misión de coleccionar y vender arte egipcio moderno, una particularidad por la que se caracteriza. Desde 1968,  la galería, situada en el corazón de Zamalek, ha fomentado el creciente interés y el aprecio por el arte egipcio en El Cairo.

Además de ser el lugar al que acuden los mecenas a admirar la singularidad de las obra de los pioneros del arte egipcio, SafarKhan constituye una plataforma para que expongan los artistas contemporáneos más destacados, y fomenta, a su vez, el continuo descubrimiento de nuevos talentos.

Desde sus inicios, la galería ha perseguido el objetivo de educar y enriquecer al público, local y extranjero, sobre la originalidad, el carácter y el papel social del arte egipcio, y su capacidad de reflexión sobre la identidad egipcia a lo largo de los años. Entre sus principales servicios, destaca la organización de exposiciones basadas en un tema, una materia o un artista específico de Egipto, así como el trato con coleccionistas de arte, instituciones y expertos a nivel local e internacional con el fin de cultivar el aprecio y la popularidad del arte egipcio. Aunque su principal característica ha permanecido inalterada, SafarKhan ha evolucionado para incorporar más funciones y servicios al mercado, sobre todo,  en materia de valoraciones y autentificaciones, manteniendo estrechos vínculos con algunas de las principales casas de subastas del mundo.

La implicación de la galería en relación con las bellas artes egipcias, ha culminado con la publicación de un libro  en el que se recogen las obras que han pertenecido a su colección a lo largo de las últimas cuatro décadas.

Townhouse es un espacio artístico sin ánimo de lucro, situado en el centro de El Cairo. Ocupa una posición icónica en la historia del arte contemporáneo en Oriente Medio; y constituye un motor clave en el panorama artístico regional, de gran riqueza cultural.

Fundada en 1998, Townhouse ha puesto en marcha una gran variedad de actividades en sus distintos espacios: simposios regionales, labores divulgativas dentro de la comunidad, exposiciones emblemáticas y residencias internacionales para artistas, comisarios, escritores y cineastas. También ha creado varios espacios artísticos importantes en El Cairo, que han tenido importante repercusión en el panorama cultural. A nivel individual, la galería ha desempeñado un papel fundamental en las carreras de artistas de renombre internacional, y ha acogido a varios profesionales y comisarios influyentes del extranjero.

Por otro lado, el espacio Rawabet ofrece una plataforma a artistas independientes de todos los géneros. Además de su propia programación, también actúa como sede de programas comisariados por otras instituciones.

Townhouse dispone de una biblioteca, que alberga salones culturales para conversar y  proyectar películas comisariadas, y de un archivo, que pone de relieve la importancia de la difusión del discurso y la documentación de las empresas de arte contemporáneo en El Cairo.

Su política de puertas abiertas ha permitido a los activistas culturales de todos los medios creativos encontrar una vía de apoyo para sus proyectos, ideas y experimentos. La institución colabora con varios de artistas y entidades con el objetivo de dar apoyo a una amplia red de artistas locales, regionales e internacionales.
