En 1974,hace casi más de diez años de la indepen independencia de Senegal,  juristas preocupadas por la situación que sufre la población senegalesa y, en particular, por la de las mujeres y los niños, sintieron la necesidad y el deber de crear un marco de reflexión e intercambio sobre la cuestión. Así nació la Asociación de Juristas Senegaleses (AJS) en julio de 1974. Entre sus miembros se encuentran mujeres profesoras de derecho, magistradas, abogadas, alguaciles, notarias, inspectoras de trabajo, asesoras jurídicas, doctoras en derecho, etc. La agrupación de mujeres abogadas les ha permitido contribuir eficazmente al desarrollo del derecho en general y al adelanto de las mujeres y los niños en particular.

Hacer de la Asociación de Juristas Senegaleses una organización de mujeres juristas de referencia en el mundo, en escrupulosa conformidad con los ideales, objetivos y estatutos de la AJS.

Museo nacional de Etiopía

El Museo Nacional es el hogar de Lucy (Dinqnesh), probablemente el esqueleto más famoso de un homínido del mundo.Hallado en 1974 en Hadar en las riberas del Awash , se le denominó Australopithecus Afariensis, tiene con más de tres millones de años. El museo también posee una interesante colección de arqueología y de artefactos de la historia de Etiopía, así como objetos de arte y cultura del país.
