Born in Spain, emigrated to UK in 1977. Worked in the Scottish Highlands in Arts Development and travelled through Europe working voluntarily in International Youth Projects and also at the Lerchundi Centre in Martil, Tetouan, North Morocco.

Alejandra Val Cubero es profesora de Comunicación Audiovisual en la Universidad Carlos III de Madrid y especialista en cines africanos.

Es miembro del Grupo de Investigación TECMERIN y del Instituto de Estudios de Género, en la Universidad Carlos III de Madrid.
