Founded in 1997, PIGIER Benin is a for-profit private higher-education institution located in the large city of Cotonou (population range of 500,000-1,000,000 inhabitants), Littoral. Officially recognized by the Ministère de l’Enseignement Supérieur et de la Recherche Scientifique, Benin (Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research of Benin), PIGIER Benin is a coeducational Beninese higher education institution. PIGIER Benin offers courses and programs leading to officially recognized higher education degrees such as bachelor degrees, master degrees in several areas of study.

Established in 1970, Université d'Abomey-Calavi (University of Abomey-Calavi) is a non-profit public higher-education institution located in the urban setting of the medium city of Abomey-Calavi (population range of 250,000-499,999 inhabitants), Atlantique. This institution also has branch campuses in the following locations: Cotonou, Ouidah, Porto-Novo.

From a simple annex to a modern and a multidisciplinary university with remarkable accomplishments. 

It was on March 29th, 1968 that was laid, by the President Houari BOUMEDIENE, the first cornerstone of the University of Constantine whose official “birth certificate” was the ordinance n°69.56 of June 17th, 1969. As a reminder, the Center of the University of Constantine was established by the Decree of 1961, which was signed by the President of the French Republic, and which acted to create two university centers in Algeria: one in Oran and the other in Constantine.

Created by Decree No. 89-138 of the 1^st  of August  1989, modified and completed  by  the Executive Decree No. 95-205 of August 5^th  1995, then amended by Executive Decree No. 98-391 of December 2^nd  1998, the University of Belkaïd Abou Bekr Tlemcen results from of a long evolution.

At the beginning, higher education stared at a university center that included at the origin (1974-1980) the only core curriculum of Exact Sciences and Biology.

La Fundación Carolina (FC) se creó por acuerdo del Consejo de Ministros el 22 de septiembre de 2000, con el fin de fomentar las relaciones culturales y la cooperación en materia educativa y científica entre España y los países de la Comunidad Iberoamericana de Naciones y con otros con especiales vínculos históricos, culturales y geográficos. En tanto institución perteneciente al sistema de la cooperación española, el mandato de la FC integró en su horizonte el cumplimiento de los Objetivos de Desarrollo del Milenio (ODM) de Naciones Unidas.
