El Banco Central de los Estados de África Occidental (BCEAO) es la institución emisora conjunta de los ocho (8) Estados miembros de la Unión Monetaria de África Occidental (UMA).

Sawabona es un saludo utilizado en el sur de África que significa: “Yo te respeto, yo te valoro, tú eres importante para mí”.Las personas responden: Shikoba: "Entonces, yo existo para ti".

África Sawabona es un grupo conformado por profesionales de distintos ámbitos que se han comprometido con un objetivo común: mejorar las condiciones de vida de las comunidades africanas más desfavorecidas y vulnerables.

Todos ellos trabajan con fines altruistas, por lo que no reciben prestación económica y financias sus propios costes durante las misiones en el terreno. Sus recursos económicos provienen de personas particulares con las que se mantiene un compromiso de destinar el 100% de su ayuda al proyecto. Actúan en dos aspectos principales: la sanidad y la formación.

Por un lado, África Sawabona actúa en Senegal, un país que se encuentra en el número 155 en el índice de desarrollo humano de la ONU, entre los 187 que se contemplan. Las inversiones que ha realizado el Gobierno para reducir la pobreza se han concentrado principalmente en la capital, Dakar, y las zonas turísticas de Sally-Portudal, e industriales de Thies, por lo que afecta mayormente al entorno rural. El país se divide en 14 regiones, siendo Mali, Guinea Bissau y Guinea Conakry los lugares más pobres de la tierra, con rentas que casi no alcanzan los 50 euros mensuales por persona.

Es por ello que el área de intervención de África Sawabona en cuanto a la sanidad se centra en País Bassari, un recóndito lugar que recibe su nombre por una de las etnias que ahí habitan: la bassari. Por otro lado, también se centran en la comunidad rural de Dindefello, compuesta por 25 campamentos con 8.625 habitantes.

Por otra parte, África Sawabona apuesta por una educación y formación de calidad que sirve como herramienta propulsora del desarrollo del país. Por ello trabajan para desarrollar capacidades polivalentes que refuercen el crecimiento y la promoción de una sociedad carente de recursos. Algunos sectores en los que ofrecen cursos son: agentes de salud, ayuda de matrona, higiene dental e higiene y nutrición.

The Namibian, fundado en 1986, es el periódico más grande de Namibia. Se publica en inglés y cuenta con numerosas secciones, como noticias, deportes y entretenimientos. 

Por fin en África es un blog creado y dirigido por Aurora Moreno Alcojor, licenciada en Periodismo, colaboradora con medios de comunicación como África no es un país y Mundo Negro. Su pasión por África resultó en la creación de este blog.

Como bien indica su creadora, en Por fin en África encontrará las  noticias que no aparecen en los medios de comunicación y las que inundan los periódicos. También, encontrará noticias sobre la gente que hace cosas, los que protestan, los que se mueven y los que se marchan. Es un blog que trata la inmigración, habla de los africanos en Europa y los europeos que van a África. Es un blog lleno de dudas y preguntas en el que compartir con los demás. 

Cabe destacar que el blog recibió un Premios Bitácoras 2012 por el mejor Blog Social en el Festival de Literatura Africana.
