XXVIII Festival del Sur-Encuentro Teatral Tres Continentes
The Sur-Encuentro Teatral Tres Continentes Festival this year celebrates this new edition of the festival and is in its 26th year which, despite times of crisis, continues to invest strongly in culture, often the first to be punished due to the lack of resources.
Casa África wishes once again this year to join in at this important gathering with the culture of three continents and does so with a new edition of African Letters, a Casa África programme that was founded in 2009 to bring the Spanish public closer to the main voices of contemporary African literature.
Through this programme Léonora Miano, comes to Gran Canaria, she is a writer from Cameroon whose award winning work focuses primarily on sub-Saharan Africa and Afro-descendants. Six novels, two collections of short texts and a play among other productions, are the work of this young writer who now, as part of African Letters, will be at the Orlando Hernandez de la Villa de Agüimes Museum on Saturday 19th October at 6.30 pm.
Among the activities related to Africa, the Sur Encuentro Teatral Tres Contienentes Festival of Agüimes also organises:
- A fashion catwalk by African designer Awa Meite on 16/10/2013 at 6 pm
- A round table entitled: Western military interventions: Recolonizing Africa? On 18.10.2013 at 5 pm
