XII Festival de Cine Africano de Córdoba

The 12th African Film Festival of Cordobastarts on Saturday 21st March with an edition which will screen 60 titles from 30 countries, the majority unpublished in our country. The programme will be accompanied by a series of parallel activities that seek to bring the public closer to the film industry and cultural reality of the African continent.

Casa África collaborates one more year in this African cinema event inviting the filmmaker Kevin Ninkeu, winner of the Ceiba Award  in the last FECIGE (Equatorial Guinea) to present his film at the FCAT.

In order to facilitate the dissemination of the programming, FCAT has subtitled into Spanish some of the trailers of the films participating in the competitive hypermetropy section. They are collected on this playlist.

In addition to the 60 films that will be screened, the 12th edition of the African Film Festival of Cordoba includes in its programming a wide range of parallel activities that will contribute to bring the participants nearer to the complex reality of the neighbouring continent.

African cinema lovers will find in the Training Forum The Tree of Words a privileged area to learn and debate on contemporary audiovisual creation through training sessions with  African experts and  filmmakers, followed by talks on cinema and cinematographic criticism enlivened by Javier Tolentino.

Then the Cinema's appetizers will be held, informal meetings between filmmakers, film lovers and journalists chaired by the critic of the cinema magazine Caimán Cuadernos, Javier H. Estrada.

In addition, the parallel programming includes a contemporary African dance workshop, the School area (pedagogical branch of FCAT), the African Village (workshop area for children), the Literature and Immigration meeting and the exhibition: They are my rights. The Universal Declaration of Human Rights through the eyes of thirty photographers at the Faculty of Arts.
