Taller WikiÁfrica: Cómo compartir tu conocimiento sobre África en Wikipedia
Wikipedia is a free and multi-lingual encyclopaedia managed by the Wikimedia Foundation. This information portal has gradually become a reference source for those that are curious as well as for experts and thanks to the contribution of volunteers from different parts of the world has made known more than 20 million articles, translated into more than two hundred languages and dialects.
As Casa África is an organisation that supports the diffusion of knowledge from the African continent, it has wanted to make the most of the opportunity that having this platform means in giving information on Africa. It is due to this that it has organised a workshop on the management of information regarding African matters on the Wikipedia portal, so that everybody that wants to share their knowledge on Africa, can do so correctly and so it can reach as many people as possible.
This workshop's development, which will be presented by Marcos Tallés (WikiMedia Secretary in Spain), will take place as part of the Casa África's multimedia portal presentation, KUWAMBA, and the 3rd Seminar on Documentation and Library science during the evening of Tuesday 29th November at Casa África's headquarters.
