Seminario UE-Etiopía sobre diálogo interétnico, interreligioso

The Ethiopian Ministry of Culture has requested for the Spanish Embassy in the EU Delegation in that country to organise a seminar on inter-ethnic and inter-religious dialogue. Because Spain promotes the Civilisations Alliance along with Turkey, they have presented, along with the EU Delegation in Ethiopia, a seminar proposal in order to discuss inter-community and inter-religious dialogue within the context of the challenges that Ethiopia faces.

The seminar, which will be held at the UNECA office in the Ethiopian capital on the 11th and 12th of November, will analyse:

Internal challenges: identity, demographic pressure, competition for resources and access to public assets, and conflict management.
External challenges: bordering communities, foreign threats, public image and communication.

In addition, there will be a presentation of the Strategy Notebook titled 'Sub-Saharan Africa. European and African Response to the Problems of Security in Africa', which discusses topics such as:

The Africa-EU peace and security partnership
The possible lines of action for the EU´s security policy in Africa
Development and its relation to peace and security in Africa
The Security Sector Reform in Africa The EU´s experience in Guinea-Bissau
