Seminario técnico sobre puertos: Managing Risk in Container Operations
ICHCA is the acronym for International Cargo Handling Coordination Association,an independent, non-profit making organisation founded in 1952 which is dedicated to improving safety, sustainability, productivity and efficiency of cargo handling and movement of goods.
Two major international events will take place in Las Palmas Gran Canaria as part of the Africa Canary Islands Regional Section of ICHCA and furthering the development policy and internationalisation of the Port Authority of Las Palmas and Ports Foundation of Las Palmas, from 9th to 11th March 2015.
- The 73rd edition of the ICHCA International Safety Panel (73ISP), which will be held on 9th and 10th March 2015 in the Port Authority's conference hall, given by specialists from ICHCA in collaboration with OPCSA
- The security seminar titled Managing Risk in Container Operations which will be held on 11th March 2015 in Casa Africa and will feature the participation of recognised international speakers who are experts in Safety.
Both events will be attended by over 50 participants, among them delegations from countries of the West African Coast such as Morocco, Senegal, Ghana, Benin, Cameroon and Burkina Faso as well as expert participants from all over Europe (Belgium Germany, UK, Finland, France, Spain, etc.)
This event represents a milestone for the Port of La Luz, and for the manager of the Ports Foundation, Mr. Sergio Galván, as it is the first time it is held in Gran Canaria and provides an opportunity for companies in the sector and experts in the Canary Islands ports field to participate in this initiative and get to know from ICHCA professionals the progress and developments in the sector and enhance collaboration among institutions.
