Santiago, escenario de danza contemporánea
On this occasion, the cultural offering of África Vive consists of contemporary African dance, with the aim of letting people know that in the neighbouring continent, dance is more than tribalism and rites--it´s cutting edge styles and the search for beauty.
To show this, Casa África presents in Santiago a performance that shows the artistic potential and the creative work being carried out in the continent in the field of dance.
On this occasion, Ciré Bèye and Auguste Ouedraogo will perform. The first is a Senegalese dancer that has belonged to the Jant Bi company for ten years. After performing in Bilbao with the África Vive initiative, he will dance a 35 minute solo in Bilbao called Yonnu Adouna, sur le chemin de la vie, accompanied only by a soft light and the music of a saxophone. Auguste Ouedraogo is a recognised dancer from Burkina Faso, co-founder of the Art’Dév/Compagnie Auguste-Bienvenue company that has collaborated in the creation of several shows such as the choreographic display titled Kôyan Kote (2000), choreographed by Salia Sanou, Seydou Boro and Cyril Viallon.
The performance will take place in the Salón Teatro of the Centro Dramático Galego (Rúa Nova, 34) on Tuesday, June 15, at 8:30 pm. Admission price: €10. Approximate performance duration: 1 hour and 15 minutes
